iPhone 12 Pro Rumored to Come with Improved Face ID, 120Hz Pro Motion Display, 3X Camera Zoom

iPhone 12 Camera

Rumors continue to fly with the iPhone 12 with the latest shots coming from Max Weinbach, who shared this information with YouTube channel EverythingApplePro.

News of the improved 120Hz display is huge for iPhone users. But this is something of the norm for flagship Android smartphones. Top-end models have been using 90Hz and 120Hz displays for some time —giving the impression that the trend-setting iPhone is now playing catchup with its competitors.

120Hz Pro Motion Display

It seems that the Apple iPhone 12 will not only share some of the iPad Pro’s design but will also be getting a 120Hz Promotion high refresh-rate display. It will enable the phone to switch between 60HZ and 120Hz to conserve battery life automatically.

The difference between the older and the 120Hz display can be very subtle, but upon closer inspection, everything glides smoother and faster.

The phone is also expected to come with a much improved internal battery with upgrades not only to its high-resolution display and rollout of its 5G connectivity. Weinbach even goes as far as suggesting that the 6.7 iPhone 12 Pro Max’s battery will have a 4400mAh capacity. It is quite significant given the current iPhone 11 Pro Max 3969mAh battery.

iPhone 12 – 3X Camera Zoom

The iPhone 12 Pro’s camera is slated to come with improved image stabilization, faster autofocus, and improved low-light photography. Its Smart HDR can also reduce noise in dark environments, further enhancing the quality of images.

An earlier rumor of a new LiDAR scanner is said to improve autofocus. The LiDAR sensor is speculated to enhance the accuracy of Portrait Mode photos. Information gathered from the video also includes the telephoto zoom getting a 2x to 3x upgrade, which allows you to zoom in to subjects without using the digital zoom feature.

Improved Face ID

Not much was discussed about the iPhone 12 Pro’s improved Face ID only that it could support unlocking at a wider angle of views. It is certainly something with the new phone rumored to come with a smaller notch design.

Apple is expected to launch four new iPhones later this year. The top-tier 6.1 inch iPhone 12 Pro and 6.7 inch iPhone 12 Pro Max is expected to come with the ProMotion display. While the lower-end 5.4 inch and 6.1-inch models will still sport the 60Hz display, however, all phones are expected to have OLED displays.

This new rumor will keep things interesting until the iPhone 12 is finally launched this year. But as with all rumors, this should be taken lightly, not gospel truth.
