Will iPhone 15 and 15 Plus see delay over upgraded 48MP Camera

Capturing the Perfect Shot: The Price of Upgraded Camera Quality for the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus

iphone 15 and 15 plus expected delays

There is a possibility that the production of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus may face delays due to issues with the component required for the upgraded 48MP camera, according to Haitong International Securities’ analyst Jeff Pu. In a recent research note, Pu revealed that there could be problems with the timely delivery of the stacked CIS (CMOS Image Sensor) for the 48MP cameras on the non-Pro models of the iPhone 15 series.

Although Pu still expects Apple to unveil all four new iPhone 15 handsets in September as planned, he says that he will continue to monitor the risks of production schedules. However, as with every year, there have been rumors of potential delays for Apple’s upcoming iPhone models. While most of these rumors turn out to be baseless, there have been delays in the past due to suppliers’ inability to deliver components on time, resulting in the postponed release of certain models.

Last year, the iPhone 14 Plus was delayed until October 7th due to Apple’s inability to source enough displays for the phone. Similarly, in 2017, the TrueDepth Camera’s supplier failed to ship enough components on time for Face ID, resulting in the iPhone X being released on November 3rd, while the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus was released 10 days after the unveiling.

It remains to be seen whether the rumored production issues with the 48MP camera will lead to delays for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. However, if there are delays, it could mean a longer wait time for customers eagerly anticipating the new models. Nevertheless, Apple has not made any official announcements regarding the iPhone 15 series launch, so it is still unclear whether the speculated upgrades and production delays will indeed materialize.
