Apple plans to update its full range of iPads this year, beginning with the iPad Pro in March. Bloomberg indicates that the launch of the new iPad Pro models is slated for March. According to reports, these devices have entered mass production and are scheduled for release by the end of March.

M3 Powered iPad Pro

The upcoming iPad Pro versions are set to surpass the performance of the existing models significantly. It’s anticipated that Apple will equip both the 11-inch and 13-inch models of the iPad Pro with the advanced M3 processor.

Although the prospect of a new iPad Pro featuring an OLED display and an M3 processor is enticing, there’s a possibility that it could come with a significantly higher price tag compared to the existing models of the iPad Pro.

All OLED Screen Lineup

The upcoming iPad Pro models are poised for a significant upgrade with the introduction of OLED display technology, moving away from the LCD screens that have been standard in the 11-inch version since its launch in 2018.

For the first time, the entire range of iPad Pros will feature OLED screens, marking a significant shift as Apple expands its use of OLED technology beyond the iPhone and Apple Watch. Additionally, the 12.9-inch model of the iPad Pro is expected to see an increase in screen size to 13 inches this year.

OLED displays are superior to mini-LED displays in terms of achieving deeper black levels. This improvement is due to the ability of OLED pixels to emit light directly, allowing for the complete shutdown of pixels when a true black color is needed.

In contrast, the larger 12.9-inch variant has embraced mini-LED backlighting from 2021, providing an improved viewing experience with enhanced brightness and contrast compared to its smaller counterpart’s traditional backlighting.

The introduction of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro with mini-LED technology in 2021 was met with mentions of an issue known as “blooming.” The transition to OLED screens for the iPad Pro lineup this year is anticipated to address and rectify this issue.

Upgrade Magic Keyboard

Bloomberg reports that an updated Magic Keyboard is in the works, aiming to give the iPad Pro a more laptop-like appearance with a robust aluminum frame. This update would be the first for the Magic Keyboard since it debuted in 2020.

The prospect of an upgraded Magic Keyboard that enhances the iPad Pro’s resemblance to a laptop is quite appealing. Despite the current model’s appeal, the use of fabric doesn’t seem to justify its high cost.

Additionally, Apple is rumored to be developing a new version of the Apple Pencil, designed to complement the upcoming iPad Pro. Various sources suggest that this next-generation Apple Pencil may incorporate “Find My” functionality and offer tips that can be magnetically exchanged to mimic different artistic tools.
