New iPhone 16 Pro Max to be the Biggest iPhone ever?

In the latest round of rumors surrounding Apple’s upcoming iPhone 16 display upgrades, the flagship device is expected to see a notable increase in size. The new model is projected to feature a 6.9-inch display, up from the current iPhone 15 Pro Max’s 6.7-inch screen. This would make the iPhone 16 Pro Max the largest iPhone ever produced by Apple.

A recent image shared by ZONEofTECH on X (formerly Twitter) provides a visual comparison between a dummy model of the iPhone 16 Pro Max and an actual iPhone 15 Pro Max. Dummy units, often used for display or testing purposes, are crafted to match the dimensions and design changes of unreleased devices. The image clearly shows the size difference, highlighting the rumored 0.2-inch increase.

In addition to the iPhone 16 Pro Max, the smaller iPhone 16 Pro is also expected to grow, increasing from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches. Both models are anticipated to be taller and wider than their iPhone 15 Pro counterparts, though the thickness is expected to remain unchanged. The slight increase in size is likely to result in a marginal weight gain due to the larger dimensions.

Apple is rumored to be implementing Border Reduction Structure (BRS) technology in the iPhone 16 Pro models, which could lead to slimmer bezels and more display space within the existing dimensions. This technology, along with a potential 20% increase in typical SDR brightness (up to 1,200 nits), could significantly enhance the screen viewing experience.

The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are expected to maintain their current sizes of 6.1 and 6.7 inches, respectively. If Apple follows its traditional release schedule, the iPhone 16 lineup is likely to debut around mid-September.

In terms of hardware, the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are rumored to feature several significant upgrades. These include larger batteries, support for Wi-Fi 6E, and the introduction of the A18 Pro chip. Camera improvements are also anticipated, with reports suggesting the inclusion of a new 48MP ultra-wide lens, a 5X telephoto lens, and a dedicated Capture button.

As the release date approaches, these iPhone 16 rumors continue to build excitement for what could be Apple’s most advanced iPhone yet. If the speculations hold true, the iPhone 16 Pro Max will offer users a larger display, enhanced performance, and a suite of new features designed to elevate the overall smartphone experience.
