Apple reveals the much anticipated iPhone 12!
(source: Forbes)

Rumour has it! We’re only a few months away from the new iPhone 12 which is heavily anticipated later this year – around September or October, as Apple recently surprised us with its sudden announcement of the new handphone’s price range and variety amidst the speculations that the release will be postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

With this development, what can we expect from the new iPhone 12 series? Well, there are four possible new additions to this line. The direct successors of the iPhone 11 will be the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max, and, there are claims saying that an iPhone 12 Max with a big screen might be on its way too.

A Closer Look at the iPhone 12 Series

We can see major changes in this new series of iPhone. The 5G connectivity is one of the most anticipated updates together with the new A14 Bionic processor. Fans are also excited about the huge camera modification, and the possibility of enjoying a 120Hz display.

Recent leaks suggest that the iPhone 12 design wouldn’t be the same from the previous releases. Just think about the major differences between the iPhone 4 and 5. The built will be far from what we’re used to for the new aesthetics will be flatter. There will also be a smaller notch, which somehow resembles the iPhone 5. However, what sets this apart is the debut of the navy blue color for the iPhone 12 Pro. This hue will be more dominant in the unit, which is new.

The iPhone 12 is set to have more squared and sharp edges, as compared to the round ones from the previous releases. But, it would still be made of glass. Sonny Dickinson, who is very much reliable when it comes to giving Apple leaks, provided dummies of the fresh handset.

These dummies show the changes that we can expect from iPhone 12 series. Based on the line-up, the smallest will bear a 5.4” screen, on the other hand, the iPhone 12 Max and 12 will have 6.1”. The largest, the iPhone 12 Pro Max will be the largest at 6.7”.

The Specifications and Features

There are specifications that are almost confirmed already, including the Qualcomm X55 modem, the proprietary A14 chipset, and the A13 Bionic. The first feature means that these iPhones will have the 5G-capability which is much awaited these days.

If ever, this will be a pioneer for the iPhone in featuring 5G connectivity. This will be its LTE service for its mobile data. Furthermore, they say that it will be capable of supporting both sub-6Hz bands and mmWave. As this is the case, we are most likely to see an LCP antenna. We’ve first seen this in 2017 with the iPhone X model.

The iPhone 12 will have two cameras on its back that are packed with wide and ultra-wide lenses. This might also be the same as the lower-end of the iPhone 12. But, the higher-end iPhone 12 units will probably feature LiDAR Scanner and telephoto lenses.

The Price

There are no official announcements as far as the pricing of the new iPhone breed is concerned. But, it is just safe to assume that it’s going to be in the vein of the 2019 releases.

Just to look back, the iPhone 11 started at $699, the iPhone 11 Pro at $999, then the iPhone Pro Max at $1,099.

The case may not be the same as the iPhone 12. Techradar summarized the probable price range of the new unit according to another source from YouTube who is known for giving dependable predictions on iPhones, Jon Prosser. And they presented it as follows:

As for the UK and Australia, there’s no information yet. It shouldn’t be far from the price range of the previous models though. Hence, it could be more affordable for starters. If there are changes, they won’t be that drastic as well.

While not confirmed, there are talks saying that the new units won’t have a power adapter. This may imply a reduction in the cost too. This may also mean a smaller packaging, which would make the item lighter. However, it isn’t very clear just yet.

These are the new information we have gathered so far with the much-anticipated iPhone 12. Are you excited for it? For more updates, stay tuned with Techable!
